My name is Ketan Pandit. I live in Bombay and I make photographs.

The work on this site is from the last several years — landscapes from Ladakh, walls and trees from Delhi, the everyday business of life in Bombay markets. All of it in black and white. Removing the colour helps me see what was actually in the frame.

I am not a full-time photographer. I run a marketing consultancy by day — BeSeenCo, which works with growth-stage B2B technology companies. The photographs are not a hobby either. They are the slower, more patient half of how I think.

I do not have a method, exactly. I look until I see something. Then I make a frame, and I keep walking. The best mornings are the ones when I come back with three pictures I would keep.

I am most comfortable with a 24–70 lens and an early hour. I shoot on a Sony α7r V and a Fujifilm XT-4; I develop in Lightroom; None of that matters very much. The picture is the picture.

Working on two ongoing series — Bazaar & the everyday, in and around Delhi and Bombay’s markets, and Bombay, after the rain, which is about rooftops and weather and what a city looks like when it is briefly washed clean.

Planning a return to Zanskar in the autumn.

To commission a portrait or a landscape — write to me. To tell me about a place I should photograph — please, also, write to me.
